The St. Jude’s hospital, here in Chicago, has been sending us regular mailers informing us of thier work towards cancer in children, and in goodwill, keep sending us very lovely return address labels, which we use for all our local letter mailing. And since he didn’t want to use something without giving something back, R donated some money to the hospital. Ever since, we are getting more such goodies from them. Just yesterday, we received a very nice personalised notepad…the kind in which you can scribble shopping lists, to-do things, etc. I always get delighted with varities in stationery. And of course there’s also a little donation card attched with us, asking for our generosity.

And here’s where our first contribution of $20 towards the ceiling on desires fund will go to…. St. Jude’s Hospital! It feels good to find a cause to channel this money to.

Thanks for reminding me with this post… I should mail in my donation too to them in return for the nice address labels they have sent me.

doesn’t it feel good? The Salvation Army has been doing the same for me – for almost a decade now – they send me raffle tickets and address labels and notecards and notepads and I send them a 20$ or 25$ check every few months all these years – despite my move from midwest to northwest, they have followed me…

my first visit to your blog and I think I will come back to read more.

Just read your previous post too, we started this tradition of a little puja every morning about a year ago as my first step towards teaching my children a little about our culture. And decided to take it one day at a time too and am so happy to see that we have all enjoyed this little prayer time together as a family and that it has continued this far even though we did miss it a few times, but I can count those times on fingures.

Good going !
